Art Inspired by the Dance
   Paintings by Janet Morgan

These pages are full of art inspired by Belly Dance, or Middle Eastern Dance,
created by the internationally exhibited artist Janet Morgan.
Her study and performance of Belly Dance has inspired these wild and colorful works.

Morgan in the film on the Hudson River Pageant, May 2009
A short film about Morgan from the Artist Archive, both art and dance

“Janet Morgan's exotic and mystical art captures the intense passionate movement,
spirituality, and grace of bellydance.
We feel the dancer's longing for union with Divinity.
Other works evoke a sense of serenity.
To meditate on the undulating explosions of color and line inspires a gratitude
for the mysterious Spirit behind her expressive work.
I am honored to have been a subject for her brush. “
JEHAN, dancer, composer and director of Goddessdance.  Nov. 4 2004
